Got a Couch!

Our first couch! May 2012 - so exciting.
Had it delivered, so difficult for them to get it up 5 flights of stairs. And it seemed impossible to get through the door but they did!
We also sold the small white couch on Craigslist which was nice to make some extra cash and avoid living room crowding.

Ah so amazing!

Moving is such a good look for us

Moving Day

Moving into our apartment on March 17, 2012

Moving in - "How did we fit all this stuff in the studio!?"

Organizing step 1

Slept in the living room the first few days so we could paint the bedroom

TV setup - had our internet connected the first day

So many boxes and nowhere to go

Woo - D got the bedroom taped and started painting the first night!

Painting makes it feel like a home.

Apartment Hunting - Love At First Sight

March 2012 - Apartment Hunting

Had our eye on the Upper West Side. Ideally next to Central Park.
Coming from a very teeny studio for the past 18 months together, we were ready for a 1 bedroom.
We were getting married in 2 months, but our lease was up so we decided to go for it.

This is the first apartment we saw. Totally fell in love with it.

Positives: Right next to the park, brownstone, close to the subway we both take to work, old building (1920s), exposed brick, 2 closets, bathtub
Negatives: No dishwasher, five floor walk up*, totally no cabinet space
*exercise positive

Here it is as we first saw it:

The living room - larger than our first apartment

Exposed brick, giant windows, view of the park

Coming from a studio, this is a huge bedroom

Tiny kitchen, no storage
